Cupcake nail art is a really popular design, and for good reason! It's kawaii, quick and super easy to customize and make your own. I like to include a cupcake nail with a Mix n Match mani. A polka dot nail, a sparkly nail, a cupcake nail, a floral nail will leave you with fingers that should belong to a princess!

For this tutorial I used Sally Hansen Extreme Wear in Mint Sorbet, Deep Purple and Lacey Lilac, Beauty UK in Lilac Girl, Konad special polish in White and Sinful Colors in Ruby Ruby for the cherry on top!

tips & tricks:
For the lines on the cupcake base and the sprinkles use a thin brush.
As I said at the top of the page...make it your own! Do a different shape for the cupcake, maybe make it a swirl cupcake. Use a rhinestone for the cherry on top. There is endless possibilities!
My white polish went on a bit lumpy, which was actually kind of perfect for the texture of icing.
If you want to really dress it up, start with a base color (or pattern!) instead of a bare nail.

I am such a sucker for pastel nails! This look is really soft and beautiful, and you can do all ten nails in about 15 minutes. This technique would work for bright polishes too, but I love the way the pretty pastels blend together!

In this tutorial I used Beauty UK in White (for the base) and Green, Sally Hansen Extreme Wear in Lacey Lilac and Love & Beauty (from Forever 21) in Orchid and Seche Vite top coat.

tips & tricks:
Be careful when you're adding the green. If you put too much over the purple it can end up looking muddy.
Always use a make-up sponge, not a kitchen sponge!
I brush the polish on my sponge, then dab it a couple times of a piece of paper so I don't apply too much on my nail. It's easier to add more than take away too much.
To clean up our cuticles, just dip a stiff, wide brush in acetone (a Q-tip works, too) and wipe away extra polish.

Acid wash nails are a bit grungey, a bit hip and a lot easy! I saw a really cute pair of studded, acid washed cut-offs but since I couldn't afford them, I decided to re-create them on my nails! What I like about this tutorial is you get a cool textured nail without needing a steady hand or painstaking application. It's fun, simple nail art.

In this tutorial I used Beauty UK in White, Sinful Colors in Ciao Bella and Cutex nourishing polish remover.

tips & tricks:
When you're rubbing off the white, use a very light pressure. Press too hard and you'll end up with a chunky, bumpy mani.
If the white is coming off too easily, apply another thin coat. If the blue is coming off, add more top coat before the white polish.
Be careful of fluff from the q-tip getting stuck in your polish. Cotton fluff is my hell.
Make sure the white is completely dry before you start the removal, or you'll just "push" the polish around your nail.

Newspaper nails are so easy to do. No polish required (well...aside from a base color!) This is a perfect tutorial for someone just starting to do nail art! I've seen think look around the internet but hadn't tried it and I was pleasantly surprised with how fast and easy it was. I haven't tried it with magazines or pictures, but why not experiment and try out some new looks?

In this tutorial I used Beauty UK in White, The Sun Newspaper, Cheap Vodka and Filthy Gorgeous top coat.

tips & tricks:
I used Vodka for this, but you can also use rubbing alcohol. Some people have even used mouthwash!
Keep a cotton pad with remover at hand so you can quickly wipe away any mistakes. A couple I tried didn't work out very well, but the newspaper ink wipes away quite easily.
Once you apply the newspaper to your nail, don't move it or your letters will get blurred. Just gently roll your finger over the nail.
If the paper isn't wet enough, just add another drop of alcohol with your finger.
Make sure your letters are all the right way up. I put some of mine on upside down!
